Basilica feast preparation — pilgrim-route works announced
Ahead of the Our Lady of Snows feast in August, coordinated works on pilgrim walkways, drinking-water points and sanitation along the feast route have been announced. Police crowd-management, one-way routing and designated parking will be enforced during the feast days.
Heritage, Tourism & Basilica PrecinctFisher-family patta special camp — Taluk Office, 20–22 July
A special revenue camp for title-deed (patta) applications from fisher-community families settled along the shoreline will be held at the Thoothukudi Taluk Office from 20 to 22 July 2026. Bring ration card, Aadhaar, electricity bill and any prior residence documents. Constituency-office staff will assist with forms.

Follow-up health screening for residents of Kumareddiyapuram and surrounding SIPCOT-area neighbourhoods continues through July at PHCs and mobile camps. Adults are encouraged to bring past medical records. Specialist referrals are being arranged where indicated.

Open underground-drainage pits and excavated road stretches are being closed on priority. Residents can flag unsafe pits through the Grievances section — these are routed directly to the Corporation's Thoothukudi zone.
